About
Cosmologist · LAPP, Annecy, France
I am a cosmologist currently working on galaxy clusters within the LSST Dark Energy Science Collaboration (DESC). I hold a Ph.D. in Physics from the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL), Brazil (2020–2024), where my thesis examined primordial black hole formation in contracting universes, supervised by Sandro Dias Pinto Vitenti. I also completed my Master's in Physics at UEL (2018–2020). I actually started out in a different field entirely — a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering at Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2013–2018) — before switching to physics once I realized that studying the largest structures in the Universe was what I actually wanted to spend my time on.
During my Ph.D. I spent ten months as an exchange researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique Subatomique et de Cosmologie (LPSC) in Grenoble, France (2022–2023), working with Céline Combet. Since August 2024, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at LAPP (Laboratoire d'Annecy de Physique des Particules) in Annecy, France, working with Thibault Guillemin and Dominique Boutigny.
I like moving between different areas of cosmology — from theoretical work on structure formation in the early Universe to observational analyses of large galaxy surveys. I currently coordinate the galaxy cluster cosmology pipeline for LSST-DESC, and I'm a full member of LSST-DESC and a commissioning member of the Vera Rubin Observatory. What keeps me excited is the wave of new sky surveys — LSST/Rubin, Euclid, DESI — that are about to transform what we can measure about the Universe. Outside physics, I speak Portuguese (native), English, French, and some German.
